Uppsala VINN Excellence Center for Wireless Sensor Networks (WISENET) has organized a school on wireless sensor networks in Uppsala, Sweden, on November 8-9, 2010. The objective of the WISENET Nordic Darkness School was to offer foundational tutorials accompanied by a selection of exciting new and emerging technologies as well as industrial applications in the areas covered by WISENET, all given by leading scientific and industrial experts of the community. The project
Dynamic Multipoint Wireless Transmission
a cooperation between our group, Signals and Systems Chalmers and Karlstad University, led by Mikael Sternad, received a Framework Grant (Ramanslag) from Vetenskapsrådet (Swedish Research Council). This collaboration is a continuation of the Wireless IP project. (Dec. 15, 2009)

Peter Lindberg and Erik Öjefors are recipients of the R. W. P. King Award of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society, based on the paper "Bandwidth Enhancement Technique for Mobile Handset Antennas Using Wavetraps", published in the August 2006 issue of the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation. The R. W. P. King Award recognizes the paper considered to be the best contribution by an author less than 36 years of age in the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation for the past year.

The Wireless IP Project, a collaboration between researchers here ( Mikael Sternad and Anders Ahlén), at Chalmers and at Karlstad University, has for two years performed research on a mobile data system beyond 3G, with wide area coverage for mobile users and extreme spectral efficiency.

Out of 144 proposals, the Wireless IP project was on June 17, 2002 selected as one of the 14 projects that received 3-year funding by SSF, the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research. ( Press release in pdf)
