PCC++ / GST Summer School,
Steningevik, June 23-27 2003
on Theory of Science and Scientific Method

This course is co-organized by the Graduate School in
Personal Computing and Communication
(PCC++)
and the national Graduate School in Telecommunications
(GST)
in Sweden.
The host institution is
Signals and Systems at
Uppsala University.
These summer schools have traditionally been
organized as one-week events the week after midsummer.

Course Contents
The aim of the summer school of 2003 can be summarized as:

demonstrating to the participants how their research discipline
differs
from other disciplines when it comes to for example (i) what is
considered to
be a scientific problem, (ii) what methods and tools are accepted, and
(iii)
what traditions and underlying assumptions that are
dominating.

increasing their knowledge of how the academic system works, for
example publishing your work, making an academic career
etc.

Target Group and Admission policy
The summer school is primarily aimed at the PhD students in GST and
PCC++ and also PCC. A few other
PhD students in telecommunications from any Swedish
universities are
welcome to participate (subject to availability).
Students have to
apply online
no later than May 16.
Fees
The respective reseach schools cover the cost of students
admitted to GST, PCC++ or PCC.
Applications are binding.
